Bald Head Island is a small barrier island at the mouth of the Cape Fear River. It can only be reached by passenger Ferry and one gets around the island by golf cart, walking or biking. BHI has a small but active full time resident population and a much larger population of part time property owners and tourists.

The island is surrounded by River, Ocean, Creek and Marsh which all provide different opportunities for outdoor activities. The BHI Club provides golf, tennis, swimming, a fitness center, restaurants, and last but not least Croquet. The BHI Croquet Club is a subset of the BHI Club.

We have 3 greenswards and a 4th is currently being built. The Croquet Club sponsors monthly croquet events and socials. There will be 5 local tournaments and 7 Scramblers in 2012, plus we will host an annual BHI Invitational, the NC State Singles, and the Solomon Cup this year. In addition we support a part time Croquet Pro, Jeff Soo, who will be on the island 7 times this year to teach technique, strategy and rules.
