Responsibilities of the Bald Head Island Croquet Club Education Committee Posted 16 Mar 09
Establish a Committee no later than September 1 of each year. It is helpful to have experienced as well as new members participate in the responsibilities and planning for this committee. The Educational Goals should be established at the first meeting. These goals should be based upon direction from the Executive Committee as well as new ideas generated by the newly formed Education Committee. Once Goals are established, each person on the committee should take responsibility for the implementation of at least one goal. As appropriate, two people may work jointly on any given responsibility. The minutes from this first meeting should be sent to the Executive Committee for their approval and/or further recommendations. Historically, the Education Committee has been responsible for the following activities. These educational events should be reviewed for adjustment, expansion or discontinuation on any given year as recommended. · Mentoring Program· Securing a topic and teacher(s) for Wednesday Wickets once/month.· Notifying Croquet Secretary each month of topic and teacher for distribution to the membership by the Secretary.· Maintaining an active library of VHS and DVD Instructional Tapes and any other learning materials.· Offering an individual assessment of croquet members as requested using the Assessment Tool available in Croquet College.· Offering a Rules and Etiquette Workshop during the winter months.· Offering at least one Instructional Clinic by a Croquet Pro.· Offering a Start-up beginners class immediately following Wine and Wickets each summer.· Updating the Croquet College curriculum as needed.· Organizing and preparing all materials for Croquet College each March. |
