We are still collecting items for our silent auction in March 2008 during National Club Teams Championships to benefit the USCA. If you have something to donate, there is still time to do so. Items donated are tax-deductible, as the U.S. Croquet Association is a non-profit organization. Become a National Patron Member

Become a National Patron of the National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach, home of the largest croquet facility in the country and location of the headquarters office of the U.S. Croquet Association. Help support the National Croquet Center through membership. As a National Patron member of the NCC, you will receive all the benefits of a standard full membership with the club for an annual fee of only $175 if you reside outside of the State of Florida. The USCA needs volunteers on a local, state and regional level. The USCA is a non-profit organization with a small staff, which runs the headquarters office and functions on a national level in large part with the help of its volunteers around the country. There are many different volunteer areas you can choose from – various committee assignments, referees and tournament directors at district and regional tournaments, volunteer planning coordinators for social events. Also, we are raising money for junior croquet through our 30 for 30 campaign. Volunteers are needed to assist us with the implementation of junior croquet programs for children and teens throughout the U.S. This program could have a dramatic impact on the future of croquet and is critical to the growth of our sport.

Each year three of the USCA Regional Vice Presidential positions come up for re-election. At the 2008 Annual General Meeting the following positions will be elected:

2007 National Croquet Day

Here are a few suggestions that may help in getting you started:

We are contacting major croquet suppliers for donations of exciting prizes, including equipment, training tools and clothing. Prizes will be awarded for "Most Exposure for the Sport" and "Most Unique Event", so start brainstorming and let’s see just how creative we can be in developing ideas. Coverage of your events will appear in Croquet News.

You must register your club to participate. Contact Diane Weir at usca@msn.com or by phone at (561) 478-0760 to register and obtain promotional information. Or visit our website www.croquetamerica.com for the registration form and additional info. The co-chairs for this year’s National Croquet Day are Ron and Genie Hendry.

Remember, there are two excellent introductory videos (a short and a longer version) now available on the USCA website, if you haven’t checked it out yet…plus rules, tournaments, and shopping. Let’s make 2007 the BEST National Croquet Day ever!!

The USCA office staff is working on collecting all member email addresses to have on file, as we will increasingly be using email as a form of communication with our members. As mentioned previously, we are already emailing our monthly newsletter to all members we have email addresses for. And we will be sending tournament entry forms and other correspondence to our members by email in the future as well.

Recently, we have been contacted by many of our members providing their current email addresses, and sincerely appreciate all the members’ and club presidents’ assistance in helping us have this information on file. Please continue to assist us in collecting all USCA members’ email addresses. Spread the word! Members, tell your fellow USCA members to contact us with their email addresses if they are not already receiving the newsletter. Club presidents, continue to spread the word to your club members and send us a list of updated email addresses for your members that belong to the USCA.
